Wassaja Family Services Director DEFINITION & PURPOSE:
Under general supervision, performs and leads professional counseling of ranges of difficulty; conducts behavioral health and substance abuse recovery therapy with clients to regain mental, emotional, physical and spiritual health.
Oversees and develops the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Program for the community.
Responsible for the clinical quality, operational efficiency and strategic planning for the tribal behavioral health program.

Responsibilities:
Provides and oversses outpatient behavioral health therapy services including screenings, consultations, assessments, and ongoing therapeutic treatment for youth, adults and families; Schedules treatment activities, assigns clinical staff to cases, and evaluates progress of cases and accurately documents patient progress; Develops, adjusts and manages treatment and aftercare plans in conjunction with other behavioral health clinical team members; conducts comprehensive assessments related to client's total life health, including physical, emotional, mental and spiritual well-being; performs and leads individual, group and family therapy services, including group psycho-educational classes for issues related to substance abuse use, addiction and recovery;.
Develop, supervise and perform treatment, intervention, case management, education and prevention programming; Informs client of residential admission process and expectations, when appropriate; Establishes and ensures confidentiality of case records; Utilizes Peer Review for charting and record keeping systems to ensure all treatment components conform to quality control and quality assurance requirements; Provides educational activities within the community pertaining to substance abuse and healing in a culturally competent manner.
Consults with clinical personnel, contracted service providers and other professionals regarding ongoing client care; Participates in case staffing; Responsible for maintenance of continuum of care and follow up of client progress; Arranges for or provides transportation for clients to treatment programs and other related activities as needed; Responsible for reporting requirements for Tribal and Federal Substance Abuse programs, including P.

SKILLS, ABILITIES & KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of the principles and practices of the counseling profession; Knowledge of 12-step recovery programs; Ability to provide effective supervision to clinical staff; Skill in conducting treatment and program evaluation and implementation; Skill in conducting group psycho-educational classes for substance abuse clients; including support groups; Skill in teaching therapeutic techniques and activities for behavioral health clients; Knowledge of domestic violence programming and the treatment of perpetrators of domestic violence; Knowledge of resources and services available in treatment and rehabilitation programs; Knowledge of social and legal issues related to substance abuse and mental health; Knowledge of applicable tribal, federal, state and local laws, statutes, ordinances, rules, regulations, policies and procedures; Knowledge of HIPAA, privacy and security regulations; Knowledge of confidential records management systems; Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing;; Ability to relate to and interact with clients from various social, economic, cultural backgrounds and specifically the Fort McDowell community and or other Native American communities Demonstrated organizational skills to effectively manage a diverse case load and complex workload; Ability to prepare comprehensive reports, including statistical reports; Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with other departments of the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation, treatment service providers, state and Federal agencies; Skill in operating a personal computer utilizing word processing and database software.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION:
1.
Master's Degree from an accredited university or college in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work or a closely related area required; 2.
Minimum of five years' experience in counseling in the area of Substance Abuse/Chemical Dependency with experience in outpatient treatment setting; 3.
Licensed by the AZ Board of Behavioral Health with Supervision certification; LCSW or LPC preferred; 4.
Minimum of two years supervisory experience in behavioral health; 5.
Experience working with American Indian communities and or population preferred; 6.
Experience working with children and adolescents preferred; 7.
Current Arizona Driver's License and meet FMYN insurance standards.
PAYRATE:
$71,437.
64 to $85,725.
